Bhagvad Gita quotes in images and posets for management, life, peace, patience

In my earlier blog post, I tried to make it in presentation still I could not make it a very good one then I thought to make it in poster/ image format so my blog reader can benefit from the wisdom, save it, share it and use it.

The Bhagavad Gita is a message addressed to each and every human individual to help him
or her to solve the vexing problem of overcoming the present and progressing towards a bright
future. This holy scripture is not just an “old scripture”, nor is it just a book of “religious teachings”,
nor even a Hindu holy book. It transcends the bounds of any particular religion or race, and is
actually divine wisdom addressed to mankind for all times, in order to help human beings face and
solve the ever-present problems of birth and death, of pain, suffering, fear, bondage, love and hate.
It enables man to liberate himself from all limiting factors and reach a state of perfect balance, inner
stability and mental peace, complete freedom from grief, fear and anxiety. Within its eighteen
chapters is revealed a human drama. This is the experience of everyone in this world, the drama of
the ascent of man from a state of utter dejection, sorrow and total breakdown and hopelessness to a
state of perfect understanding, clarity, renewed strength and triumph.

I hope everybody will be blessed with this wisdom.

You may read Bhagvad Gita from following sources

http://www.asitis.com/ Bhagvad Gita as it is by founder of ISKCON Shrila Prabhupada. It is one of the best written book on Bhagvad Gita.

Mogambo Khush Hua!
Leadership Lessons from the Greatest Bollywood Villain
By Anisa Virji

You must be wondering what the evil Mogambo, drumming his rings on his marble globes laughing that doom-filled laugh proclaiming 'Mogambo khush hua!' can teach you about leadership. But think about this: He was running a globally successful, extremely profitable empire, had an army of well-functioning, high-tech, highly-loyal employees, had an enormous throne to sit on, and was always khush.

To obtain that kind of success and happiness Mogambo had to be a brilliant leader. So let's set aside his evil destructive streak for a few minutes, and see if we can learn something from his unique leadership style.

  1. Dream as Big as you Dare.

  2. Mogambo lived larger than life. He was not afraid to dream ridiculously big dreams, and was not afraid to announce them to the whole world. His goal was to destroy India - not just a galli, not just a city, an entire country. He wanted the whole world to proclaim 'Hail Mogambo! King of India.' He didn't care if people would laugh and say 'That's impossible!' He believed in himself, and with that courage of conviction he chased his dreams.

And that's what a great leader does. Aim high, dream big, and reach for the stars. Because the only person who needs to believe - is you!

  3. Sell Your Vision to the World.

  4. Mogambo sold his vision and mission with such conviction that he had everyone in his empire on board. He explained in great detail to everyone gathered in his lair how and why he would conquer India, until they were moved to chant 'Hail Mogambo! King of India!'

A good leader must communicate his vision with clarity and conviction. Everyone who works with you should believe in your purpose as a company, and work towards a common mission. So call as many company meetings as you can in your lair (or you might prefer to do so in your conference room) and tell them exactly where your ship is headed.

  5. Lay out Elaborate Plans for Your Success.

  6. Mogambo did more than just dream, though. He took action. He designed and set into motion a brilliantly evil plan to fulfill his evil mission, which included missile creation and bomb manufacturing, and even polluting the whole country's rice and daal with kankar-pathar (stones) - a detailed and innovative strategy.

If your dream is big then your plan must be detailed, innovative, yet simple to execute. Do whatever it takes to make your plan materialize. Be innovative, be different, and try every possible strategy.

  7. Inspire Loyalty in Your Team.

  8. Mogambo had an army of loyal soldiers, including the trusted advisors Daga and Teja. They faced untold dangers (such as the invisible man who beat them up) for their work and went out of their way in service of the business. He rewarded them well, lavishly praising their good work, often announcing 'Mogambo khush hua' to show his pleasure, and I'm sure they all became rich in the job as well.

A loyal and talented staff is the strength of any leader. You should cultivate a loyal team by ensuring that you acknowledge their work, remunerate generously to show they are valued, and guide them when they need direction and support.

  9. Harness the Power of Technology.

  10. Mogambo was using technology never before seen in any evil Bollywood empire, such as an underground pool of steaming acid with automatic sliding doors, and robots patrolling his lair. Technology is developing so rapidly most people find it intimidating to keep up, but in today's fast-paced world if you're not moving ahead you're falling behind. Don't let that happen, get on board with technology, and it'll take your business across the world.

  11. Don't Micromanage, Trust your Employees.

  12. Mogambo sat there on his throne clicking his fingers on the globe laughing his wonderful resounding laugh, and completely trusting his people to do a good job. He gave them clear instructions (whether it was to destroy India or take over an orphanage) and his staff went about their business to the best of their capabilities, solving problems and dealing with challenges along the way. In fact, they only turned to him for help eventually when things got out of hand, like being attacked by an invisible man, Mr. India. Then he stepped in to take care of it.

That's what a good leader does - he provides support, guidance, and training to ensure his team can do a good job, and he is not afraid to delegate. Good training and reporting systems imbibe an efficient work flow and maintain trust and autonomy between a leader and his people.

  13. Understand your Market's Nuances.

  14. Mogambo was well-versed in the market for evil goods, and he found his niche customer base. Realizing that no Indian would want to buy a gold statue of a God (Hanuman) stolen from a temple, he looked to see where his target customer was (abroad) and adopted international business tactics. As a leader, be willing to look beyond your comfort zone for success. The world is your market, so zone into your niche and cater to your customers.

  15. Persevere - Don't Let Failure Knock You Over.

  16. Perhaps Mogambo's greatest quality was his perseverance. Even in the face of stark opposition he believed in his dream and pursued it with the greatest energy. He knew that to succeed he would need solid will power and the ability to get up and keep going when he is knocked over. When threatened with a challenge, the invisible man, he fought to his bitter end. A leader doesn't give up. He knows that failures are just hurdles on the way to success.

  17. Maintain a Good Work Environment.

  18. Mogambo's lair was amazing. There was lots of space, great décor (a lit-up muliticoloured map of India) and even a pool (although it was filled with acid). Unfortunately it was underground... perhaps a leader should think about somewhere with sunlight and air instead? He also dressed the part of a leader. There is a saying 'Don't dress for the job you have, dress for the job you want.' And Mogambo sure dressed royally, as a world conqueror should.

  19. Stay Positive.

  20. 'Mogambo khush hua', he announced over and over again, letting everyone know he appreciated their work, and that it made him happy. And in turn his employees were happy. They loved their jobs and their leader. So stay positive, and everyone around you will feel positive too.

  21. And the Most Important Lesson of All: Do Good, Not Harm

  22. You must be wondering by now, if Mogambo had such great leadership qualities, why did he fail in his mission to destroy/conquer India? If his vision was so clear, why did India survive andMogambo get defeated?

The answer to that question is the most important lesson you can learn from Mogambo.

Mogambo had one major failing. He dreamt for himself. His goal was for himself. It wasn't for anyone else to gain from and in fact harmed everyone but him. There's one simple rule a good leader should follow 'Do no harm'.

Obviously then, don't be evil. Don't threaten, don't destroy, don't bomb, and don't take over an orphanage, because 'good' will come along and defeat you, every time. For every Mogambo there is a Mr. India out to set things right.

So choose to be Mr. India. Let your goal be noble and productive, both for yourself and others, and then follow Mogambo's leadership qualities to achieve good in the world.

Hi,

I do not want to miss this but not sure if I can attend this HR conclave. Every HR must attend such great opportunities.
No detail agenda of this event/ conclave but it seems it is more about change management. There is no mention of fee either so I am assuming it is free (possibly because NMIMS is organising this and on form online too, it is not asking about registration fee). If you look at speakers, they are senior human resources professional from HPCL, Tata, Radio city, Tech Mahindra, Aon Hewitt and so on. It makes sense to attend the event.

I am sure this will be a great learning event.

degree scams of Indian private and deemed universities and violation by distance learning institutes

$

Hi,

I have already written plenty on this and you can scan my blog for all the article.

Here is, the reply I have sent to UGC as well as DEB with whom I have been coordinating and complaining about wrongdoing of many universities in India.
These universities are mostly private universities and deemed universities from the states where state of education is very poor still we can see every week, a new university is emerging. I am going to disclose the whole communication with DEB, DEC, UGC and ministry of HRD once I get reply from them.

Please go through each link and spread message. Please do not opt private universities mentioned here for your degree need whether distance learning, online, offline, off campus, industry integrated or under any name. Please read and share maximum.

Hi,

Thanks a lot. I hope finally after years, I will get reply on action taken so far on University of madras as well as errant universities.

I am attaching pdf copy of email sent to University of Madras, DEB as well as CM-TN which is self explanatory (and yes, have not got any reply on this mail sent on 12th August 2014 so far)

I am also providing list of critical degree scam and violation happening through state universities as well as private universities. The fact is- UGC as well as DEB (erstwhile DEB) were well informed about it.

Here are the links:

http://blog.simplycareer.net/2014/08/whyyoushouldnotjoinamityuniversitymumbai.html (Amity is selling online degrees now in African countires as well)

Mostly private universities in India are violating norms and selling degrees backdated through agents (and these agents are giving guaranteed verifiable degrees in 3 months thats too backdated. You can read comments of my various reader)

Surprisingly, UGC allowed private person to start open universities in Nagaland (TGOU) as well as Arunachal Pradesh (Venkateshwara Open University). I wrote to venkateshwara Open University but they have not replied so far.

How Bharathidasan University is selling degrees through an agent

How Osmania University (A rated by NAAC) always controversial

Here is techno global University selling degrees in engineering and management like hot cake. It is another EIILM and CMJ

MGU shillong still selling the degrees

Here is Manav Bharati University degree scams too

Here is few partial list of degree selling private and deemed universities

Shridhar University's degree scam- a never ending story

Following is blogpost for my reply to UGC on suggestion of draft for distance education regulation.

It was never implemented and the report/ replies from all people were never made publicly available.

Here is one of the comment
"Dear Mr. Govind,

The institute name Indian academby in Saudi arabia & in beharain is offering courses for Alagappa University and exams are also conducted on saudi arabia. so my question is that giving exam in saudi arabia or in bahrain is valid ?

Regards,

Aziz."

So if it is a violation, how do you expect a student should know? For them, a university is approved and thats enough.

TGOU, it has not sold the degree but its students disallowed for higher education and public sector job becuase it could not ecure DEB approval and violated territorial jurisdiction. What is the student's fault in this?

How Jaipur National is running degree racket and selling degree through agent i.e. UTS Global

Many private universities are offering PhD degree, god knows when will this stop. I created following article for awareness which saved many but was not it UGC's responsibility?

CMJ, MGU, EIILM- have UGC and DEB ever seen what happened to innocent students and how many their fake degree circulated in the market. Fake- because those students never appeared for exam. They paid money and got degree.

Swami Vivekanad and C V Raman must be feeling ahamed as their name is used in degree scam

I have chat transcript from a girl who is doing MA from Kolkata from Swami Vivekanad and they are being harassed every time. They lost their 2 valuable years.

A full article on EIILM fake degree racket

PTU and KSOU who sold degree like fruits and vegetabled and made thousand crores
UGC did nothing other than issuing notices

MGU shillong degree scam

There is Assam Down Town, there is Assam Don Bosco- both are selling online degrees

I do not know what stops you to take action. This is the way our highest education regulation functions.

UGC list 20 odd fake universities but infact, more than 150 exist in India. I have made a full list
Here is the list I made in 2011

I cannot hope from UGC as well as DEB to be proactive and taking their job seriously. Still, let see how you people reply on your apathy.

Regards
Govind

I was going through this article and found useful.
This article is very important to understand

Harbhajan Singh (not the cricketer but VP-HR and IR of Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India)'s life itself self explanatory. He started as a labourer, completed his graduation and then other studies. Over the years, he self planned his development and his experiences are example for everybody who are a self made man. Thanks a lot to Shishir parasher of Financial Chronicle for granting permission to republish the interview taken by him. Here we go

HR has to plan its own development

Interview | Harbhajan Singh, V-P, HR, industrial relations, legal and corporate affairs, HMSI

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Japan, is the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. The company, which started its Indian operations in May, 2001 at IMT Manesar (Haryana), has more than 15,000 employees (permanent and contractual) in India.

You started your journey as a casual worker at Tata Steel and were associated with trade unions for a long time. What has been your experience?

Continuous learning and education has been a way of life for me. I started my journey as a trade apprentice in 1976 after finishing high school.

But I continued my studies and did graduation in commerce, completed Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) and post-graduations in labour and social welfare, and business management from Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) in Jamshedpur.

I have a natural flair to take people along and I enjoy helping others in whichever way I can. Probably this made employees to elect me as executive committee member of the union in 1989.

I continued being with Tata workers’ union and several other unions in various positions till I left Tata Steel in January 2006.

I enjoyed being a union representative. I looked upon myself as a person in whom his fellow employees had reposed the trust to improve the quality of their lives. I have the satisfaction of doing justice to that role.

During this journey, I was associated with the International Labour Organisation and ILO-Danida project, which gave me a global perspective.

What made you take up HR as a career that too after taking part in union activities for so long?

When there was a major industrial relations problem at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India in 2005, I was invited to organise a two-day workshop for union leaders and officials of the company.

The workshop helped in ironing out the differences and smoothening the relationship in the organisation. After that both the management and the union expressed their feelings that I should take forward the process of creating a harmonious industrial environment at the organisation.

I felt that I had an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by accepting a new role as industrial relations manager and that motivated me to take up the responsibilities in management.

I am with Honda since 2006 and I think I have done justice to this role, which I thoroughly enjoy as well.

How did you manage to resolve the labour unrest and set the balance right at the organisation?

When there is a loss of trust, nobody is willing to believe the other. We took the risk of trusting the other side and that paved the way for laying the foundation for a long-term peace and harmonious relationship. First a long-term settlement was signed between the union and the management in 2006. That took care of the financial needs and benefit requirements of employees.

After that union and management signed a pledge in presence of all employees and media to install a culture of ‘working together’.

Since then we have moved forward and followed in true spirit what we had been talking. Two more long-term settlements have been reached and signed between the management and union of employees in 2009 and in 2012.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has grown to capture the number two position in the market and a healthy industrial relation environment prevails in the organisation.

What mistakes human resources (HR) professionals commit while managing workers?

At times HR professionals fail to present the real picture to the management. They just keep on saying what the top management wants to hear. They should provide right inputs and guide the management about short-term gains vs long-term implications.

They need to be closer to the employees and get a proper understanding of their problems and should workout appropriate solutions for that. They should be compassionate while imparting discipline, and must set a right balance while deciding rewards. Highhandedness in dealings may spark disputes and may prove costly to the organisation.

Do HR professionals remain aware of expectations of the chief executive officer when it comes to organisational demands?

HR plays a crucial role in any organisation. In a way it is eyes and ears of to the chief executive officer. The CEOs are always busy focusing on enhancing brand, expanding markets, diversifying and improving product portfolios, mergers and acquisitions, reducing costs and increasing profitability.

The human resources department and professionals have to support with right policies, structure and processes to enable the organisation achieve its goals and objectives.

HR has the responsibility to train and develop employees in an organisation. Who should be responsible for training and development of HR professionals?

In today’s scenario when there is 360 degree assessment in place, even HR department and professionals get the feedback from all sections of the organisation about the areas of improvement. Accordingly, in consultation and direction of the chief executive officer, they plan their own development needs.

What expectations do you have from the government about educating trade unions for maintaining industrial harmony?

The government should push the programmes under the Central Board of Workers Education to educate the workforce on the role and responsibilities of trade unions and also other programmes pertaining to health and sanitation and other areas of concern to them.

I hope you enjoyed the article

Best distance MBA, executive MBA institute list in India

I got multiple inquiry from my blog readers on from where to pursue MBA in distance mode. As usual my reply is:
1.       Always prefer an evening MBA/ Executive MBA  from a reputed institute as employer still give more value to a well known university and colleges. Few of them are : FMS Delhi, JBIMS Mumbai, K J Somaiya Mumbai
2.       Do not opt PG diploma distance as it does not add any value. Avoid SCDL, Welingkar Distance programme so NMIMS distance PG Diploma, better opt their executive MBA
3.       Even if you want to distance learning degree, please prefer a central university first, then a good state and deemed university and do MBA within their jurisdiction only. Avoid private universities at any cost as most of them are selling degrees.
Please read following article

Before opting and PG Diploma in management, PGDBA, MBA and so on.. please spend good time to read following article

I have not included following institutes
1.       All universities who are violating norms a lot and selling degrees like hot cake like Sikkim Manipal, ICFAI, Vinayak Mission
2.       I have not included the list of the university (44 deemed universities) who are blacklisted and case is in court
3.       I have not included non universities private institutes fooling students and selling PG Diplomas example SCDL, Welingkar
4.       I have not included private institutes and deemed universities whoare providing PG diplomas which are not equivalent to MBA
5.       I have not written about open universities in details as they are recognized, good in quality but private employer do not prefer them but I have written about them in the last. They are the best institute except TGOU, KSOU, Venkateshwara Open University. Government employee or those looking for government job should opt them.

Shobhit University review, validity, recognition

I have been receiving many mails from shobhit University advertisement asking to enroll for MBA. I do not need this. In my all previous article, I have not written a fully "dedicated" article on Shobhit University. I am sure, like me many people have got such email and may be curious whether to join Shobhit University or not. I have replied to various query of my readers through my blog and I replied them too.

I suggest you to read following article

Few facts about Shobhit University

Fact #1:
Shobhit has two universities one Shobhit University (a deemed University )- basically a deemed university is upgradation of college with approval from Ministry of HRD when it can offer specific and unique courses but they are not full fledged university. So, they cannot affiliate any college, cannot start any off campus or second campus without UGC approval and cannot offer any additional courses without prior UGC approval.
Recently, Shobhit has also started a private university in UP, Gangoh (Possibly; it is back up university in case supreme court declares it invalid and go ahead for de-recognition)

Fact #2 Shobhit is a blacklisted university
Shobhit faced proved from UGC and found that it does not have the minimum required infrastructure to offer courses. hence, it suggested to derecognize it. This is all result of rot and corruption in UGC, DEC. The matter is pending in the honourable supreme court and I do not know why both UGC and Supreme Court is seating on this. Ideally, supreme court should have barred all these 44 universities to stop admission and complete only batch of the existing already enrolled students. Due to this lack in logical judgment, these universities aggressively started to admit students to earn more and more money. More surprisingly, newspapers (few) gave shobhit ranking in top 50 universities (as Shobhit claims) and that must be a paid ranking.

Fact #3 Shobhit cannot offer distance education courses
Since 2014, UGC DEB has cancelled approval of Shobhit University so it cannot offer courses in distance learning mode anywhere. It has to offer only full time course from its campus. on its website, it mislead with the DEC approval which was cancelled in 2012 and finally, now  UGC has not approved its distance learning for current year. This means, all the student pursuing distance education from 2014 onward at shobhit University, their degree stand invalid and unrecognized.

Fact #4:  Shobhit University does not have AICTE approval
Shobhit University in its website citing an old Supreme Court Judgment where, the court has said that AICTE approval is not required for a university, however, recently, honourable supreme court correcting its error has said that even for a university, AICTE approval is mandatory. Shobhit does not have AICTE approval.
so its following programmes are just a piece of paper without any value. Shobhit University's engineering courses are invalid
they are
Diploma in engineering
BE/ B.Tech
MBA
MCA
integrated M.Tech.
M.Tech,

How is this going to affect
Private employers do not value Shobhit, if any students get placement, it will be on his / her own quality. A non AICTE approved university means
You cannot apply for higher studies in reputed institutes like IIM, IITs, NITs and I doubt except few private universities, others will accept their BE/ B.Tech/ MBA/ Diploma engineering/ MCA and other qualifications.
You cannot apply for Visa abroad as there too, most likely that consulates will verify AICTE approval. So Shobhit University degree may not be approved/ accepted/ recognized for VIsa for job abroad, for settling abroad and for higher education abroad.
You will not be able to apply for any public sector job even if you are competent enough. an AICTE approval is mandatory for engineering, management and computer application programme. Similarly, approval of Bar council of India for law programmes is mandatory.

Fact #5 Shobhit University's Diploma in Pharmacy and Bachelor of Pharmacy and master of Pharmacy programmes do not have Pharmacy Council of India's approval
Please check
How does this impact
1. You will not be able to register as a pharmacist with State Pharmacy council so you will not be able to apply for job.
You will not be able to start your own medical store/ chemist shop
You may not be able to pursue higher studies.

Fact #6: It does not have mandatory disclosure
Shobhit University must have UGC as well as AICTE mandatory disclosure on its portal. The disclosure contains about infrastructure available, past placement record, minimum package offered, recognition and so on. Unfortunately, it does not have any such mandatory disclosure.

Fact #7 Shobhit University is a degree scam and selling degrees for money
Is Shobhit University fake? The answer is no but it is as good as fake. It is selling degrees for money. One student complains in a public forum saying he and his three friends opted its distance education in fast track mode (means less than 3 years) and shobhit sent them consolidated marksheet (not yearwise) and one of them did not get marksheet at all.

an agent of Shobhit Finessee academy is clearly admitting students in Mohali and mentioning it has offices in UK and USA. Apart from this institute there are many agents who are selling degrees wolrd over. It is selling BE. B.Tech and not mentioning on marksheet it as a distance education (irrespective of that even its full time engineering and management programme do not have recognition). If you ask me Should I pursue MBA from shobhit University? My clear answer will be No.
The same answer is for all distance education programme as well as full time courses.

Fact #7 Shobhit University rankings are fake and misleading
It says it is among top 50 institutes in India and I tried to go deeper to search about Shobhit University ranking. I could not find anything supporting their claim. What it talks is, ranking 2012, 2009 and I am sure they were paid rankings as now I did not find anything related to that.

So students from India and international students wish to pursue engineering courses and management courses for foreigners in India, avoid this scamster university. Avoid most of the private and deemed universities. Students from India, do not opt this university either for full time, on campus or online distance or any other mode.

Recruiters and HR: Please share your experience of quality of shobhit University students and please confirm the claim of Shobhit if your company appears in their recruiter's list (similarly IIPM had published fake recruiter's list misleading students). So far in my career, I have not come across any shobhit University degree holders and buyers but on my blog, multiple buyer of this university's degree has inquired. My advise, such degree buying tactics do not work. You can make fool to people and for yourself for a limited time but not very long. Please follow ethics.

You have read my various article related to MBA and PG Diploma in management and have asked lot of queries too.

You may refer following articles

How to choose a distance learning MBA

There are many articles on my blog. You may read them to understand about your career. The right step to choose MBA for working professionals.

I know you are working whole day and finding difficult to get growth in your career as you do not have an MBA. Then suddenly you get many advertisement, on TV, on paper, on internet and you get emails too. You come to know about SCDL, Welingkar, NMIMS, ICFAI all big name (at least through advertisement) and by the time you complete the degree and come out in the market and for your surprise, you come to know that these are just piece of paper as some of them just diploma and not an MBA at all and rest do not have mandatory approval and corporates too do not approve these degrees.

MBA should not be just a tag, it should be tool to enhance your skills and employability. The programme should be such that- it should blend with your work. Whatever you have learned, you should be able to demonstrate in the work and whatever experience you have gained in the work, you should be able to share with the people.

Tips for choosing right MBA for working people
Tips 1:

1. Choose the finest and best reputed institute even if you want to opt MBA for working executives/ part time MBA or evening MBA.

Tips2:
2. Always prefer a full time MBA from top institute i.e. tier 1 institute. if it is not possible for you, then opt for executive MBA, evening MBA or part time MBA with compulsory class room teaching. My experience is, in class room teaching you get mix people from the industry with experience. They share their own experiences while working and this becomes collaborative learning.

Tips 3:
Always prefer a central university in India and if not available, then opt a good state university.

tips 4:
Do not opt Pg Diploma in distance mode at all. First of all, in India, distance learning PG Diploma is not equivalent to MBA so you will not be able to apply abroad, will not be able to pursue higher education and public sector job.

Tips 5
Check if the institute has mandatory approval from AICTE. If it is not there, do not opt.

Tips 6
If attending evening/ weekend part time MBA is not possible for you, then opt a distance MBA but ensure it has classroom teaching facilities with mandatory attendance.

I have already posted list of institutes from where you can pursue distance learning MBA. In this article, I am focussing city wise best executive MBA (i.e. part time/ evening/ executive MBA)
The parameters are

Sharda University recently make butt of all jokes on twitter on its tag line "The world is here, where are you", really a big joke.

I thought to scan the web and look into this. In absence of proper information, people often get misguided.

Hello Friends,
I hope you are going though my blogpost http://blog.simplycareer.net for your all career needs. On this discussion, we would discuss about much advertised Sharda University.

Type of University: Private University (established purely for the profit making and commercialisation of education motive)

UGC approved: Yes

Approved by AICTE: No, its website is misleading students saying AICTE approval is not mandatory for universities. It is false. As per recent Supreme Court of India Judgment, it is now mandatory.

Approved by Medical Council of India: Yes

Approved by Dentist Council of India: Yes

Approved by Council of Architecture: Yes

Approved by Bar Council of India: Yes

However, the Bar Council of India approval points lapses in terms of infrastructure and faculty. Please see

Eligibility for engineering:
Matriculation with 60% marks; Sr. Secondary (10+2) with min. 60% marks (Aggregate & PCM)

Total seats in engineering: 2820

Total placement: 407

Placement percentage: 15%

any controversy or degree scam: As of now, I have not found Sharda University's involvement in selling degree through agents, offering full time courses by sitting at home for money. So I do not tag it as a blacklisted university.

It is a private university. You should not opt it for professional courses but if you are looking just for a degree like BA, B.Com, B.Sc., BBA, BCA, MA, M.Com, M.Sc. you may opt it. If you are not looking for good placement.

India ka sab se baada fake university.... I guess... it has the capability to spoil the life of the any bright student.....never opt for this clg....try again next time for a good college.....This university is not ugc and aicte approved..its a deemed university and that too so bad....high fee an ...

Ishan from Noida says

Sharda University has spent lot of money on ads and I am sure you must have seen those. They advertise as if it is heaven here. Well, when you come here, they still maintain this image but once you have paid the fee, nightmare starts!Education is fine.

Another Student Rinku term it as as fake as IIPM

  • Academic Programs:
  • Administration:

ONE OF THE MOST FAKE UNIV. WHO KNOWS HOW TO ATTRACT STUDENTS BY A GOOD BRANDING AND ADVERTISING STRATEGY like IIPM,.  THE PLACEMENT ON PAPERS THAT THEY SHOW AS 6-15 LACS LIES MAX. TO 1.10-3.6 LACS AND MANY of NOT EVEN A JOB.. Most ends to be a SALES man.. FACULTYS ARE TREATED LIKE SERVANTS AND FE .

Rati Dua from Chandigarh seems to be positive

  • Academic Programs:
  • Administration:
  • Extracurricular Programs:
  • Alumni Network:
It is one of the leading University whether it is in terms of the academic records of students or in terms of placement. The outstanding faculty of Sharda is supportive and knowledable too, ex-students of this university are at good ranks in top companies.

However, most of the positive feedback mentioned on mouthshut contradicts Sharada's own data on its website part of mandatory disclosure and shying away from AICTE approval. Even Bar Council of India report contradicts these "student's" claim.

For international students: International students who want to opt Sharda University need to take decision on their own. It does not have AICTE approval so please do not opt engineering, computer application and management programme. Further, it is advertising heavily. It is definitely a non profit university, it is a for profit university.

Student should take complete precaution and must not be driven away by high advertisement. Advertisement can lure you but truth can be different.

Job interview cracking tips: 6 Psychological Tricks to Help You Nail Your Next Interview

I am citing following article from hubspot under their content using policy. Thanks a lot for making content usage so friendly.
This article is by by Lindsay Kolowich.

She has well written the article. She mentions well that in the interview you have little time to make your impression. Apart from job, experience, your all contribution and performance, other points like your body language, your confidence, your communication, what to speak and how to speak. Its not only about your own performance also observing your interviewer and analysing them. It also suggest that during interview, you need you should refer by their name (yes, the interviewer may take this as your ability to observe and grasp the things). Flattering (Praising a lot but in positive way) is another suggestion comes. Further, be practical when you talk about salary hike.
This article also contains link you can follow which has research report, useful to understand and read.

I hope you will find this useful.

Many times people feel devastated when they have very good track record of the job and they fit into various parameters like average 2 years stay in an organisation, good increment and promotions in the past job, successful track record and very confident.

You should also read my following articles

Why people fail in job interview and how to tackle

http://blog.simplycareer.net/2014/08/why-people-fail-in-job-interview-and.html

Talent is not enough, your visibility is more important to get a dream job

http://blog.simplycareer.net/2014/07/makingyourselfvisibleforgettingheadhunted.html

Hubspot states: research shows that interviewers reach final decisions about applicants four minutes after meeting them, on average and thats true too. I have been fortunate to enough to screen thousands candidates and it was not tough to decide whether I should proceed with the candidate or wind up the interview as soon as possible, without letting the candidate feel offended.
Your confidence, your own body language, how you respond to the interviewer really matters and sometime what you speak too.
As hubspot article says, You have more control over the outcome of your job interview than you realize. This is true also. There is no point if you have everything to grab the job but you cannot give that impression.
Hubspot suggests following tricks:

Trick #1: Act confident, even if you don't feel confident in other word; you have to be confident and you must not keep anything in your mind which may affect your performance- it may be nervousness, may be negative thought and so on.

Hubspot mentions about a popular TED talk, of Social Psychologist Amy Cuddy It talks about your presence is more important than what you deliver in the interview. A interviewer basically looks for following quality
Your confidence
How authentic you are
How passionate you are about the job and company
How comfortable you feel at the time of interview
How enthusiastic you are about the job
Apart from the above points mentioned; I also would like to tell that enough background study of the company matters a lot. It makes me very irritated when I ask them to tell about my organisation and they reply that they could not study a lot.
Another irritating point is attitude, over confidence of the candidate. These all qualities are visible through your body language.
If you take care of above points, interviewers are more likely to hire you.
In above TED talks, cuddy talks about your proper body posture. Yes, it is very important. In one of the past article, I have mentioned  how a candidate got rejected because he leaned casually at reception(and I had screened the candidate personally, I know him for  a long time and now working in a good brand organisation but he lost that job interview).

Trick #2: Observe and respond in the body language of your interviewer.

If you really Want that job you must respond in the similar body language and style of communication of  your interviewer. The hubspot article calls it Mirroring or "mimicry" .It is about matching another person's expressions of nonverbal communication, like body language, gestures, vocal pitch and tone, posture, eye contact, and body orientation. I agree to this points but please do not misunderstood it as copying. Every person like if the person respond in similar manner but do not like if somebody exactly copy you. Mirroring is a subconscious process controlled through your attention on your interviewer's non verbal communication like language and tone of voice, facial expression, gesture, posture etc. Overall, copying is also an art, isn't it ? :)

Trick #3: Remember your all interviewer's name and address your interviewer by name.

"Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language,"  Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Very true.
Recently I had been panelist in one of the HR interaction at a known college in Mumbai. The moderator knew name of all the panelist there including mine and it surprised me. Yes, it has a very good impact.
You should remember interviewers name. If it is a panel interview, you should also remember their name with their designation. If a recruitment agency has scheduled your interview, ask them in advance who is going to interview you and also study about them. This is another way to impress that you know them well and their works too. Repeat their name as much as possible as per the need.

Trick #4: Praise the interviewer and of course the company richly.

Hubspot mentions this as flattery."Flattery has an insidious ability to worm its way into the unconscious, where it creates persistent feelings that could affect the outcomes of all kinds of business interactions, from job interviews to sales to boardroom presentations," Jaideep Sengupta, Professor of Marketing at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, told Harvard Business Review. Here, you should not do something which make them feel that you are doing it for the sake of getting job, you should be honest enough while doing this. You may praise their questions, you may defend their questions, you may talk about the interviewer's quality etc.

It may also include advice seeking from the interviewer (and honestly). I really feel happy when a candidate asks me at the end of interview "How did I fare in the interview? Where should I improve?" a study from the Kellogg School of Management also suggest to ask advice. For example, you could ask a question like, "Where do I need to focus?" , Do you want me to work in a specific project? Am I able to give enough clarity or should we discuss it again?

Trick #5: Opt the trick of reflective listening.

You need to be really attentive while doing so.First, you listen and try to really understand what a person is saying. Then, you paraphrase what they said to confirm you understood and emphasize their point. Not only does reflective listening make you look and sound interested and intelligent, it's also a form of flattery (see trick #3). Plus, having good listening skills is important for any job -- especially if you're applying for a managerial position.

Trick #6: Ask for a higher salary than you're aiming for.

When the subject of pay finally comes around, you've probably heard that it's better to aim high and then negotiate down to your desired range. This is a psychological affect called "anchoring," and it's the same effect as when your teenage daughter begs you for a pair of $150 jeans and you refuse, you're than more likely to cave in to the $80 pair. "When we encounter a number -- even an irrelevant number -- we fixate on it, and it influences our judgment," explains Todd Thorenson, Professor of Psychology at the University of Idaho.
In fact, a recent study revealed that asking for a million-dollar salary in jest can actually increase your offer by more than 10%. In the study's test scenario, an administrative assistant candidate who'd listed her salary as $29,000 interviewed for a new job and was asked what salary she wanted. In cases where the applicant didn't name a number -- which is what many of us have been trained to do, so that the interviewer names a number first -- she was offered about $32,500. When she joked, "Well I’d like a million dollars, but really I just want what’s fair," the average offer rose to almost $36,200. Of course, a quip like that might detract the interviewer altogether, so it's a risky move -- but it certainly is telling of the psychological affect naming high numbers can have on an interviewer.

Government has notified Provident Fund Limit from existing 6500 to 15000 per month

Before starting to write about this article, I would like all of you to refer following article

I had written about it on October 2013 and now almost a year after, finally government has amended the PF Act.

As per the this notification, now the PF limit has been raised from monthly gross salary of Rs. 6500 to Rs. 15000.

The coverage is on Basic + DA (Dearness Allowance) salary of an employee.

Date of effect: This will be applicable from September 01, 2014 i.e. from next month. This means, now you need to cover all employees whose monthly basic salary is upto Rs. 15000/-

This will have several implication including, now you have to cover those employees who were exempted till today. If your organisation has made employer contribution also part of the CTC, then you may need to restructure such employee's salary. Further, there will be deduction from salary too. For example, if an employee has basic salary of Rs. 15000/-  per month, now that employee will loose Rs. 1800 salary per month.

This may lead to employee dissatisfaction and it will be difficult to convince those people who are not interested for PF contribution.

Organisation is also going to get financial hit.

Suppose if around 100 employee had been exempted so far from the PF from your organisation, now you need to shell out extra money for them. Say the average basic salary of employee is per month Rs. 10000, the hit for the organisation will be around 1262 per employee. So the additional cost for 100 employee will be 126200/- Consider Rs. 120000 additional if employee is not willing to bear the cost.

It is good for employee because this give them a sense of financial security for future and who could not save the money.

all questions are welcome.

Edukart.com- company review, review of online MBA, executive MBA , fee and recognition

$
0
0

I hope reader of my blog remember my earlier article about Avagmah.

Validity of Avagmah online school, its MBA programme and other courses are not recognized and invalid

The link is as follows:

There I had indicated that I am going to write an article about edukart.com too. Perhaps I am one of the few who dared to write about edukart.

Well, there is big tall claims about edukart and its founder  Ishan Gupta and Mayank Gupta. It will be wrong if I comment on their job, idea and success but edukart is not a unique idea and it is sheer copy of the "kart" culture in India dervied from original Flipkart.. so we have many kart now, lenskart. edukart, collegekart, healthkart, watchkart, familykart, ezeekart, mybabykart, bagskart and so on.

I think out of all these kart, edukart is most profitable business with least investment as hardly any inventory involves.

How edukart does the business

There is no difference between thousands shop spread all over India selling distance education degrees. The difference is- this time edukart is authorised by these universities by violating various guideline from UGC, state government, DEB and their own Act which is the basis of their existence is there.
Edukart is just an agent. It has (probably) signed agreement with this agreement which is if you see through the angle of The Contract Act is a vid Contract (if there is any provision in the contract is contrary to any existing law, the contract itself is invalid/ void).

Edukart is a business with zero inventory

If you look at any other e-commerce site including Flipkart, they have to take huge risk. They have to maintain physical stock of the product (if they are not selling through a third party) and huge risk if not sold. For edukart there is zero physical inventory. It is a mastermind of b school graduates and I must salute them for it. University's admission seats (for distance education, by violating the norms) are sold and took commission as a commission agent. I think it would have been much better if they would have offered these distance learning institutes hunger for money to offer their services to establish online support, enhancing web learning experience, developing curriculum of these institutes based on their experience from IIM, IIT and Stanford. I am sure, by this way, they would have taken Indian education system specially online, distance, open learning into new height. But it was very difficult as these universities would have not paid money for something like that and convincing them would have been difficult. Then they must have decided, why not to become their agent and sell these degrees. An easier, viable business model to attract venture capitalist, investors and easy to sell.

India' huge market for MBA and engineering degrees

I am great admirer of my present boss and mentor. Being in a top management position and with lot of rich experience of education system, politics, geography, business, legal framework and the system, he once quoted during one of our discussion- "Do you know why we Indian are good in software, because we are expert in manipulation". No doubt, I fully agree to this. We attempt and succeed to manipulate everything. We do not do things on time and do not take enough precaution and do things right and then we search for a short cut. Today, to get success one need a degree and the most valued degree (as people assume but reality is different) are engineering degrees and MBAs. So few handful state universities and many private and deemed universities took advantage of this. Without infrastructure and without any proper quality, they started to offer the courses in other word, started to sell these degrees. You may may go through my various articles to find out more about them. If you see, in all those cases, finally students only suffered. These universities started to offer "quick degree""short degree", "one sitting degree", "instant degree" and all of them were either fake offered by universities through their agent. I get many query, people constantly asking "agent said that degree is verifiable and I cannot wait 3 years to do degree, should I go ahead?".
It is different matter to discuss whether HR and organisation should stick to qualifications? Should a degree be determiner of one's ability? Of course not. The education just becomes a way of elimination of applicants. A candidate without qualification but a good performer cannot be always the case, it will be always an exception.

HR as a business partner need to take lot of care
HR's responsibility is not just filling the position. HR must eliminate any such incompetent people who want to deceive organisation by buying a fake degree. A candidate should have guts to say that he does not have degree and if HR really need it, he can get a fake one for which he has not appeared for exam and not followed the process. Somebody shared his experience about one of his friend how he bought fake degrees including MBA and when HR doubted his credentials, he asked him to spell out his subjects in his MBA, he did not have any clue. Unfortunately, we HR take such background screening test when such candidates do no perform as expected.

Leaving all these discussion aside, I am focussing again back on Edukart and I leave it on my readers to decide on whether they should opt Edukart or not.

Few clarifications
1. Edukart is illegal official agents of many universities to whom UGC and law has strictly prohibited.
2. I have not found Edukart in the scam of selling degree by violating norms, it is just facilitating admission in those universities.
3. Edukart is neither an institute nor a university and as specified it is just a mediator facilitating admission and not awarding any qualification by its own.

Courses
It offers various courses but most prominent is- hot cake MBA
Distance cum online MBA from
KSOU
Annamalai University
Tamil nadu Open University
KSOU
Bharati Vidyapeeth
Shiats Deemed University
Venkateshwara Open University
University of Petroleum and Energy Studies
University of St. Mark and St. John- UK

Distance PGDM from:
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies
Symbiosis University
National Institute of Management and Technology, Ghaziabad
Graduate School of Business administration, Noida
All India Management Association (AIMA)
University of PEtroleum and Energy Studies

MCA, M.Sc. IT
Above mentioned universities
Rajasthan Vidyapeeth

BBA/BCA/ BA etc
Above mentioned universities and
Northwest Universities

So here comes big truth
First of all, its claim that all the courses are UGC approved are completely misleading and wrong.

Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu Open University, KSOU all are state universities and they cannot offer any course beyond the territory jurisdiction and beyond their state in any case.

Please refer:
UGC has issued fresh guideline on territorial jurisdiction of universities - See more at: http://blog.simplycareer.net/2013/06/ugc-has-issued-fresh-guideline-on.html#sthash.FgnfDAzq.dpuf

Rajasthan Vidyapeeth:
Rajasthan Vidyapeeth lost its recognition from DEC in 2012 due to its degree selling scams and violating territorial jurisdiction, A deemed university in any case cannot appoint a franchisee, cannot offer course outside its campus. Then how edukart is claiming that the degree has AICTE approval? It is just selling its degrees.

Distance PGDM are not equivalent to MBA
AIU grants equivalence to only full time PGDM. Distance PGDM are not equivalent to MBA. NMIMS has clearly replied to my mail that their own PGDM is useless for themselves, for their research programme.

Here is the reply

Jigna Patel Jigna.Patel@nmims.edu

Another lie of Edukart is it is saying PGDM from Symbiosis University. Symbiosis University does not offer any distance programme. It is offered through Symbiosis centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) which is using the brand Symbiosis International University but symbiosis does not award any programme
You may read it as follows:

Venkateshwara Open University
This is a private university and although it has added word "Open" as per the reply got from UGC, although a private university has named itself as an open, it cannot offer courses outside its campus and cannot open centre. Venkateshwara Open University does not have UGC DEB approval.

I hope above post will open your eyes. I do not understand why Edukart need to lie upto this extent?

Degree from foreign universities are not valid
AIU regulates and grants equivalence of foreign degree and as per AIU a foreign degree in India is valid only in following case:
1. The said universities have approval from the respective country's government.
2. The said courses from said university should be offered from the university's campus of its origin country. So if it is a university in UK, the students must have obtained the courses from the campus of the university from UK only.
3. The course must be full time and from the origin county only.
4. The programme should not be distance, online, off campus, collaborative (except UGC approved collaborative programme).

Now let us look at edukart. They have not made any such declaration on its website. One of the Edukart's founder has studied at US and he must be aware that doing business with such misleading statement in US could have cost them a stringent lawsuit and penalty. In India it is easy to break law and make money. In this case, both northwest university and  University of St. Mark and St. John degrees are invalid in India (but they are valid in UK)

A big false, the fee is cheapest and affordable
Edukart charge you Rs. 25000 as an agent just to process your forms to the university? (and you have to pay separately to the university. Do you want to pay so much fee (Rs. 25000 to handle your application process)? It is similar of Avagmah. Decision is yours.

Its certificate courses
It charges for certificate courses but if you search over internet, you will find similar and better courses under MOOC free of cost. I have listed few of them courses in my blog and thats too from top of the world class universities. Then why to pay money?

Free MOOC Psychology course and certificate (online course on psychology) from top global institutes - See more at: http://blog.simplycareer.net/2014/06/moocpsychologycourse.html#sthash.3cG40tMO.dpuf

Must to be attended MOOC courses in management, teaching, training, ICT and behavioural science - See more at: http://blog.simplycareer.net/2014/08/mustattendfreecoursesonlinefree.html#sthash.2zue7gCU.dpuf

Free certificate MOOC online courses on communication skills - See more at: http://blog.simplycareer.net/2013/11/mooccommunicationcoursenov.html#sthash.dssrJXX1.dpuf

I hope this has provided clarity to you.

Now, you must have a puzzling questions:

1. I am working in private sector, why should I worry about approval?
My dear friend, if you are not worried about recognition, then buy 6 months, 3 months fake degree, why you want to do it from a university only?
The fact is, any MBA does not work.

Please read following article to understand

2. The Universities are UGC approved then why their degrees are not?
UGC regulates distance education now and there is clear mandate, for distance education all institutes have to follow guideline and offer course within their territorial jurisdiction. It has been done in order to maintain quality (of course on paper only).

I think EduKart thinks that Indian peoples are stupids. They are just selling ppt slides for rs2000 or rs6000. And if any one been canvased to buy a course from EduKart please consider watching Udacity and Coursera first where they offer high quality education for free

I did not like the digital marketing course by edukart – it’s only theory theory and theory – no practical info on how to do the work – course has the content that is already available on internet for free on various websites – what do others feel who have really enrolled for the same course

I got query on foreign boards validity in India.

In my previous post, I had informed about valid, recognized and unrecognized board in India. Surprisingly more than such 50 fake education board exist in India.

here is the article link

Fake Education board and Real Education board (for Secondary Education)

There had been constant query on few foreign boards too, so I thought to write about it. I am sure this will help general reader of my blog as well as to my HR friends on identifying such fake boards.

Well, in terms of Indian boards, it is COBSE who recognize them. COBSE also recognize board from SAARC countries. Whereas for 10+2, HSC/ senior secondary qualification from countries other than India, it is AIU (Association of Indian Universities) who grants approval and recognition.

Please note: AIU does not accept High School Diploma (GED)/other school qualifications
pursued through ONLINE/ DISTANCE Mode

So, it is very clear, if any foreign country, any agent in India, anybody offer distance learning SSC, MSC, Matriculation, senior secondary, 10+2 from a foreign country in online mode, distance mode such qualifications are invalid.

I also got following query:

is NWAC [northwest accreditation commission, USA board is valid in India? AUI recognize it for UG admission?

Regards,
Dolly

and

Hello sir,
Sir please tell me that NWAC, North west accreditation commission theay  are connected 10th and high school sr diploma courses   is valid or fake board. this board have value or not.

Regards,
Dr.NARENDRAKUMAR S

So to clarify: Above mentioned board does not feature in the list of approved board by AIU.

Further, NWAC has clarified that except SERI, they do not have any agent, any sub centre of their board and also they do not offer any course in distance, online, external or private mode. They have only 25 schools as a member.

Further, to be recognize NWAC, it must satisfy following criteria
High School Diploma awarded by the American Schools in USA and other parts
of the world should be accredited either by the State Departments of Education OR
by Six Regional Accrediting Agencies in USA:
1. Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges.
2. New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
3. North Central Association of Schools and Colleges.
4. Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
5. Southern Association of Schools and Colleges.
6. Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

So beware, the qualification is unrecognized unless it is full time.

Business lesson from a first generation entrepreneur

For my blog readers, I have been thinking to bring articles on such success stories. This is not fiction and real. These are the people who started from scratch and grew due to their dedication.
In this article, I am going to write about Vinit Saraogi and Bipin Saraogi, both are my friends and featured in The small and medium Entrepreneur. They are founders, promoters and Directors of TBD tradelink Pvt. Ltd. and they inspire me a lot. I am sure you will like this article.

To know more about TBD, please visit http://www.tbdappliances.com

When most his classmates were enjoying campus life and their teenage, these two borthers Vinit Saraogi and Vipin Saraogi had something itching in their brain. The itch to start a business, the itching to grow. At their age of 20 and 18 respectively,

Both the brothers are first generation entrepreneurs. They did not have any financial background or backing. They did not know how to start, but they were never worried about it. They are the example of indomitable human spirit, a passion to do something and rise above the level. It is about your own willingness, dedication and commitments and to defy the limit.

Their strong professional approach towards the entrepreneurship, venture resulted in a full fledge start up TBD Tradelink Pvt. Ltd. Started with a business from home by selling firecrackers at home when they were mere 18 years old Today, are founders, promoter and director of TBD Tradelink. A company which owns Mumbai’s biggest franchisee of Greendust India (A factory second product), their own brand of consumer durable products like induction cooker, ceiling fan, fans, CFL, LED and successfully translating into revenue. They are not stopping here, they have much bigger and larger plan ahead.

it and Bipin attributes their success to always having mentors, focus on their goal, keeping thing simple, putting the customer first and valuing the staff and treating them as their family member. They wish to pursue multi dimensional business approach. Every business involves risk- risk to lose money, risk to lose everything earned for years. We were wondering whether they were worried about this aspect.
Vi
n
“doing business was our decision and we were ready to sacrifice our night’s sleep. If you want to get success, you have to be ready for bigger sacrifices. We could do a 9 to 5 jobs, but we would have never contended. We knew what we want in our life. Its not about money, its about our own satisfaction and calling of our soul,” Said Vinit with a big smile.
A big thanks to Vinit and Bipin for answering questions about their entrepreneurship venture, journey so far, future plan advice to other first generation entrepreneur:

Is it easy for an individual from a lower middle class with no economic background?

Vinit: Not exactly. If it would have been so easy, every individual would have become an entrepreneur I guess. But this means not that anybody cannot do it. Yes, true that everybody cannot become an entrepreneur, but anybody determined to do so with complete dedication, focus and vision can do it. Money is secondary. Getting fund is not easy. Either you should have very strong family and community linkage. Being of a Marwadi community, we are linked closely still nobody wants to fund your business idea unless they trust you. Gaining trust is a primary thing, rest follows. If you think you have planned, idea and you can start a business and within 2-3 years you will start money, then entrepreneurship is not for you. You need to have lots of patience, ability to listen no and never ending waiting. We started from our home, then we could own a shop of electrical accessories. We put our all efforts and took bigger initiatives. We bagged distribution rights for Bajaj and soon, we emerged amongst top 5 distribution partners for Bajaj Electricals. The trend still continues. Alongwith this, we also took responsibilities for Arise and people started trusting us. This is a long journey we have started.

What is the greatest obstacle you have faced in achieving the success you desire? How do you overcome it?
Bipin: There were multiple. But we accepted them. We treated them as a challenge. Sometime we were prepared and sometimes we were not. Initially getting trusted manpower was a big challenge. It involved distribution of the product on time, a right person for credit control, salesperson with a passion for selling products and considering themselves as our business partner. It involved cash collection and sometime in lakhs of Rs.. Initially, people did not want to join us as we are not a big name and had the tag of Pvt. Ltd. Company. Slowly with time, we started to get people. Thankfully we had the loyal team of people who have been with us throughout our journey.
We have never delayed salary for our staff even when we were facing the biggest financial crunch. It is essential to take care of your people and to remain connected with them. In our journey so far, of almost a decade, we have hardly any staff who left us. Although we are a small team size and we must say that the team has been our backbone. We cannot imagine our success without them.
The second obstacle was funding. We are neither an IIM alumnus who gets instant funding due to their strong network. We had to depend on our family relationship and community network for funding. Here, trust was another factor. We did not have any business background. Our father had worked as a manager in textile mills in Bhiwandi, a satellite town in Mumbai. It was difficult for people to believe that actually we could do the business. Friends from our outside community were also had mostly similar background so raising funds from them was not possible. Whoever had fund, it was difficult to convince them. You know, money matters more than the relationship.
However as we grew in our business, people and then banks and financial organization started to believe us.
When we started TBD Tradelink and started to establish distribution network, it was extremely difficult to recruit performing sales people. We took all precaution and even hired people, though references only, still they could not perform. For us, it was essential to ensure that our investor’s money is utilized properly. We could not waste in non-performing people. Finally, we had to change our strategy and extensive travel. We have re-planned and re-strategized our move. Now most of the things are on track.
Why Consumer Durables, why not other products or sector?
Vinit: see, none of the business or good or bad. Its all depends upon in which you are interested. WE love to be associated with the masses. Selling is our passion. We want to be part of the larger mass day to day family. When somebody picks our products, they should say, ohh, it is a TBD product. Year after year when they see their product still performing better and giving a good return on their investment and utility of the product, they should praise us. Then we will feel that we are in right business, we have connected ourselves to the masses. You can make money in any business, you pick but there are few business where you feel connected to the masses.

Why not e-commerce, now you can see Flipkart, amazon and so on. Don’t you think it is well connected to the masses?
Vinit: See, I told you everybody has their acumen in business. We thought about it and did a good consultation and our own thinking. WE strongly feel that any e-commerce business has a maximum life of 10 years and it is a big money game. Saholic.com is struggling, indiaplaza failed, samething with goodlife.com. If you look at current scenario, you hear flipkart, snapdeal and amazon. Rest shopping.rediff.com or Indiatimes shopping and take any other name- they are struggling. All these 3 names have strong money backing and we do not know who will survive and up to when. For us, our name, faith of our investor and creating value for investor, for us and for our customer matter a lot. We are not saying that e-commerce is bad. In the future, we may decide about it, but as of now, it is not our cup of tea.

So what is your vision, mission for TBD Tradelink and what is your future plan.
Our mission is to create value for all our stakeholder- be it is our investor, our employees, society and largely our consumer. Everybody deserves to get the best from us and we are committed to it. We personally look into our product quality specification make sure that during every production, we visit to the factory and look into the quality of the product. We trust our partners but we want to ensure our own satisfaction. We treat our every product being manufactured as for our own uses.
Our vision is to make TBD products people’s first choice. We want to make our product affordable still high in quality. Whenever people think about their day to day utility products, they should think about TBD.
Currently we are producing high quality induction cooker, gas stove and fans. This are just the initial product. Soon, we are producing
List products here
Any suggestion for first generation entrepreneur
Do not compare yourself and do not copy a business model. Stay focused and be passionate about whatever you are doing. Find out your key area in which you are interested and just focus. Do not opt entrepreneurship for money, money will follow. Do it if it gives you satisfaction. Satisfaction means not that comfortable and easy life, it means sacrificing many privileges. Be what you are and be prepared for larger sacrifice.

Do not opt online BBA, MBA, MCA and M.Sc. IT programme from University of Mysore

It happens rarely that a state government university is involved in degree scams, but now it seems Karnataka want to be a front runner on this. The latest degree scamster is the University of Mysore.
Few days back, I got a news alert on University of Mysore is offering online courses. I had two feelings
1.       Wow! This is one of the well known universities in Karnataka and in Karnataka, there is not a single state university offering MBA and MCA courses all over the state so people will get benefit from this.
2.       Is there something fishy? It is offering courses through U18, the agent of the Assam Don Bosco University involved in degree scam.

I thought to visit Mysore University’s web site. When I clicked on online programme, it redirected me to another portal.
The experience was astonishing, surprising and beyond my belief. When I bombarded them with the questions, they terminated chat. As luck would have it, I could mail them to my inbox as an evidence.
Below are a few snapshots
1.       University of Mysore does not have necessary approval from DEB to offer online and distance education courses as well as other than the non conventional mode.

2.       It is offering courses through outreach programs to colleges in Delhi and other region of India. Please note that as per the Act of the university as well as as per the UGC guideline, this university cannot affiliate any college outside the state of Karnataka. So these outreach colleges are illegal. Only a central university can offer such programmes.

3.       It does not have separate AICTE approval to offer online and distance MBA and MCA course.

4.       It has weird examination and evaluation system. Under this, you can sit in a cyber café, at your home, at a friend’s place, at your office and can appear for the exam. Really easy and what a shit!. So far, even if you go to world’s most developed countries, they have such system only for certified and non academic programmes. Even in the US or any other countries such kind of exam system does not exist. The very best example is the University of London. It offers external courses to world over students, nevertheless, for programme like MBA and M.Sc. It makes mandatory to attend classes at UK or in Hong Kong. Further, it does not take such online exam at home. They have fixed study and testing centres and students have to study there only. The centres are either British Council or the British High Commission. This is called the quality and ensuring prestige of the university. It is evident that one cannot ensure rigidity of the programme and honesty in an open examination system. Are these bloody degree sellers like KSOU, University of Mysore, U18, Assam Down Town, Assam Don Bosco, Jaipur National, Amity University has ethics or gut to say that they are selling a paper, not a degree? Do the officials from UGC and DEB whether DR. Nalini Lele or whether Prof. Ved Prakash, present chairman and ex VC a political appointee has guts to say that they are degree scamster and openly allowing it and they are simply having no idea of the chaos and do not have any knowledge of education? I am a full time working human resources professionals. Despite of my work, family and other busy schedule, If I can observe these policies and the wrongdoing happening, they cannot manage it? Or they simply ignore it as they get their commission or part in crores or they are just bothered about their salary and position. They are not entrusted to assure quality of higher training in India and they are least bothered what happens to students and the industry.

5.       The illiterate UGC moron has time to create ruckus for scrapping 4 year degree programme the University of Delhi, Symbiosis, IISc like institutes who are ensuring and providing the highest standard of education in. Was that necessary? Was that important and that’s too without anybody’s complaint. But these morons despite of repeatedly complaining about the inferior degrees selling scams happening through most of the private universities and few state universities never had guts to stop them. Is it because these people have paid them a hefty bribe? The current UGC Chairman is ex IGNOU VC. Does not he know very well what happens in the Indian distance education system? The UGC simply could not come with a circular about guideline on online exam and evaluation system and I had already complained to them about such scams by Amity and Assam Don Bosco University. Imagine a state like Assam where a central university getting a 100 % grant from UGC and the ministry of HRD, could not provide a quality education, a hotelier, a liquor seller and we do not know who else is selling degree- the great Indian private university degree scam. UGC officially replied to my RTI application system that such online exam system is invalid.
So cut short the story here:
1.       University of Mysore’s distance and online education programme does not have recognition.
2.       Its online exam system is invalid and unrecognized, so automatically the degree. As far as UGC recognition concern, UGC is the useless, corrupt body, made for political appointments like its current chairman. It has to grant recognition automatically to a university as universities are made by passing an Act in the state legislature or in The Parliament, however, it has full control over deciding how a course should be offered, what should be the minimum standard and how it should be offered, what should be a teacher’s/ professor’s or lecturer’s qualification. So it has full authority to decide whether the exam from home option should be valid or not.
3.       It does not have AICTE approval to offer courses through online or non conventional mode.

Who should opt online courses from University of Mysore
1.       Those who just need an MBA or MCA or a degree tag, but least bothered about quality
2.       Those who are not intending to do higher studies, public sector job, want to enter into government job including teaching.
3.       Those who want to apply for jobs and higher education abroad on their own (not the company sponsored one)

Who should not opt University of Mysore online MBA, MCA, BBA and other programmes
1.       Those who want to apply for a government job after completing.
2.       Those who want to apply for job abroad on their own.
3.       Those who are looking for knowledge and not just a degree.
4.       Those who are looking for higher study in India and abroad

Unfortunately, till today, almost every university involved in such kind of malpractices has their centres in all over the country (and due to patronage of Dr. Nalini Lele, Ved Prakash, other DEB and UGC officials, Amity, ADTU, Assam Don Bosco, Jaipur National and latest University of Mysore has become a global university, offering courses all over the world, at home, by giving exam from home).

I think you "highly learned" people will wake up when there will be another PIL like Prof. Yashpal Vs State of Chhatisgarh. The outcome will be bad for the innocent students only who will lose their money, their year and their career. I am surprised, even a suicide of a KSOU student did not open their eyes and they are not bothered and I am sure, Ved Prakash or Dr. Nalini Lele’s family members are either studying in top notch colleges in India or most possibly abroad so why should they bother about maintaining quality and standard?

I have been closely observing the activities of the University of Mysore since its news appearance of offering courses through online mode.

I think, the same way like V Rajashekharan Pillai took hefty bribes and allowed the institute to offer distance courses and making money by twisting and creating ambiguity in the rule, DEB is repeating the same mistake.

Here are few tough questions for them:
Now look at University of Mysore's degree scam (and it is worse than KSOU).

1. It is offering hot cake MBA, MCA, M.Sc. IT through online mode. Through online mode, I can write the exam from my home using my own laptop or own computer. Please clarify has UGC or DEB approved it? Is there any guideline for this? If not, then does it mean the degree is valid? (And if it is nothing can be worse than this)

2. Forget about outside Karnataka, they are offering degree anywhere from the world. So a person in Antarctica can have a laptop and internet connection, he can get a degree from there. So have you people purposely write-in no jurisdiction for online programme so you can let University of Mysore and Assam Down Town University can sell the degree. I am very surprised, despite of my complaint last year about Assam Down Town's this wrong doing, you people have extended its DEB approval.

3. Assam Down Town and University of Mysore is selling these degree through U18. You say, there should be one professor a HQ for each programme. What the hell that bloody professor do when I can write an exam online (and of course it is multiple choice questions and answers).

4. You say, a university cannot offer the course through franchisee agreement. Here, in this case, ADTU and Mysore are offering courses through U18, a private company. How is it not a franchisee model?

What I believe, a university should have complete control over the overall exam, evaluation, course delivery and programme offer. Here, nothing is in control. These are worse than a fake university. I am really surprised the way you people are working and letting it happen. Possibly, you people have vested interest in this. I am sorry if I am sounding harsh, but this is the reality.

5. How can DEB grant approval for MBA, MCA and other programmes without first having AICTE approval? Worst, AICTE has not replied to my RTI application yet, on online reply visible on RTI portal, they replied shortly saying AICTE does not grant approval to distance MBA programmes. What the hell is this?
Have you thought about lakhs of students who will suffer?

May I request you to immediately take action against University of Mysore and Assam Don Bosco as well as Assam Down Town and Assam Don Bosco University?

Below is the chat transcript from the University of Mysore or more appropriately its agent U18 which is self explanatory, misguiding to the student.

Kandra Ahir
03:02:31 pm

Give me a minute
I'd like to clarify that the body responsible for the regulation of courses run in Distance mode, in whichever manner possible, i.e. Correspondence or Online, is the Distance Education Bureau, as of the 16th of May, 2013, prior to which it was the Distance Education Council, under IGNOU.
You may refer to these adopted and continued guidelines at - (http://www.ignou.ac.in/upload/ignoudocs/DEC/Recognition%20of%20Open%20and%20Distance%20Learning%20(ODL)%20Institutions%20-%20Handbook%202009.pdf ) . I'd like to draw your attention in particular to this para in page 14 - The institution should have its own dedicated website for ODL system and help desk services 24 x 7. It should also gradually introduce the system of online admission, delivery of programme, online counselling, video on demand (Lectures), online evaluation etc. - The institution should regularly update its technology as well as introduce new technological innovations in order to provide quality education.
On-line ODL 6.17 With the advancement of technology, the concept of territorial jurisdiction of the institution offering higher education through ODL system has become irrelevant, but the Committee is also conscious of the fact that in past, several institutions have franchised the delivery of programmes to many undeserving individuals / organizations, such practice with commercial motives has degenerated the teaching learning process to mere degree dispensing exercise. Therefore, the Committee recommends that if all the components, viz. admission, Learning Management System (LMS), counseling, submission of assignment and evaluation and final examination of the ODL programme are offered completely online, then there will be no restriction on territorial limits. For offering such online programmes, however, the universities including institutions deemed to be universities and other institutions will have to obtain prior approval of the DECI. (these stupids are providing me an old link)

Client
03:07:23 pm

I know this, UGC is responsible for maintaining overall standard of education including deciding way of evaluation, syllabus, minimum admission criteria, minimum duration and nomenclature of programme, now DEB is under UGC. Also for MBA and MCA separate AICTE approval is mandatory

Kandra Ahir
03:07:52 pm

AICTE approval is required for regular technical courses and not for distance learning program
And MBA is a management program

Client
03:08:36 pm

so my questions are: 1. Has DEB approved University of Mysore to offer these programmes (MBA, MCA, M.Sc. IT etc.), has AICTE approval been taken? and Has UGC approved this kind of exam pattern where people can take exam from their home on their own computer

Kandra Ahir
03:08:48 pm

Please read the above paragraphs

Client
03:09:26 pm

I think you are misguiding me. Please refer DEB circular which says "Technical/ Professional Programmes: In case of technical/professional programmes offered by the university is concerned, wherever required, approval from the concerned apex bodies in the country such as AICTE, NCTE, etc. is required to be obtained for which the responsibility vests with the university concerned."
Here is the link for your reference http://www.ugc.ac.in/deb/pdf/Recognitionsaccordedunivandinsts.pdf

Kandra Ahir
03:09:51 pm

University of Mysore is UGC as well as NAAC accreditated.
So kindly read the above paragraphs that will give you the information.

Client
03:10:53 pm

Dear Sir/ Madam, I know it is UGC recognized but my question is-  have you taken approval from AICTE as well as DEB and UGC (for taking exam)
see, I have experience of CMJ, MGU and EIILM and want to make sure that my degree is authentic so please reply me point to point

Kandra Ahir
03:12:22 pm

Where it is mentioned AICTE APPROVAL is required for exams

Client
03:12:26 pm

above DEB circular clearly says that a university offering distance courses has to take separate approval from apex body and just DEB approval is not sufficient. So Do these programmes have separate approval from AICTE to offer in distance mode
see, your programme is lucrative and easy, can be given from home and none of the universities except ADTU, Assam Don Bosco, Amity etc have offered this way. I do not want to take risk with a private university so opting Mysore and yes, the great thing is I can give exam from home. I just want to ask, has UGC approved such kind of exam system where one can give exam from home

Kandra Ahir
03:14:48 pm

I would appreciate if can answer my question too.

Client
03:15:44 pm

I do not understand you are counsellor of University of Mysore or me? should I give answer? I am asking query to you and instead of replying straight forward you are giving me round and round sentence

Kandra Ahir
03:15:48 pm

I'd like to clarify that the body responsible for the regulation of courses run in Distance mode, in whichever manner possible, i.e. Correspondence or Online, is the Distance Education Bureau, as of the 16th of May ,2013, prior to which it was the Distance Education Council, under IGNOU. As per this notification - (http://www.ugc.ac.in/deb/notices/UGCNotification-17thJune2013.pdf ), the DEB , till such time as it could frame new notifications for Distance Education, has adopted the erstwhile DEC's guidelines. As you can see, the guidelines are specifically mentioning online evaluations as a desired system. Also, the other instructions on evaluations, on Page 12, as listed in the following para, leave it to the University to decide on the evaluation system - The parent institution should clearly spell out the evaluation mechanism and procedure duly approved by the statutory bodies of the universities and make available qualified staff for the purpose. . I would also take this opportunity to draw your attention to the " Report of the Committee to Suggest Measures to Regulate the Standards of Education Being Imparted through Distance Mode (Prof. Madhava Menon Committee Report) " on http://mhrd.gov.in/documents/term/83available at http://mhrd.gov.in/sites/upload_files/mhrd/files/madhava_menon_committee_on_odl_2.pdf It was on the basis of this reports recommendations did the Government of India dissolve Distance Education Council and hand over the regulatory powers it held to UGC under the DEB, and intends to frame the policy to be followed henceforth. I'd like to draw your attention to specific paras on Page 66 in this report, as under On-line ODL 6.17 With the advancement of technology, the concept of territorial jurisdiction of the institution offering higher education through ODL system has become irrelevant, but the Committee is also conscious of the fact that in past, several institutions have franchised the delivery of programmes to many undeserving individuals / organizations, such practice with commercial motives has degenerated the teaching learning process to mere degree dispensing exercise. While the Madhava Menon Committee Report is yet to be implemented fully, it does bear witness to the fact that it is the continued policy of the government to encourage online programs, and examinations. Also, the DECI as mentioned in this report is yet to be formed, as well as regulations for the same yet to be notified. Also, I'd like to remind you that the UGC / DEB has recently renewed our approval for courses in May 2014, vide this letter -http://www.dbuniversity.ac.in/UGC-Distance-Education-Bureau-Approval-ADBU.php I'd like to clarify finally on the question you asked, by confirming, that the current as well as proposed policy of the Government actively encourages online evaluation, in fact recommending it in the Madhava Menon Committee Report. The current policy (DEC) also explicitly allows the University to set its evaluation delivery systems. In light of the above, we're proud of being at the forefront of this area, in leveraging technology to aid our students, without diluting the quality of the delivery systems. I understand that there may be some vested interests working actively create a doubt in students minds regarding this issue, taking advantage of the apparent lack of clarity on these issues. I would request you to share with us any websites that may have written on this, so that we may take appropriate action against them. I hope this does clarify your concern. If not, do not hesitate to write back, and I'll try to address the issues better.

sir, I am asking about Mysore not ADTU
please reply following
Does University of Mysore have DEB approval to offer courses in non conventional mode i.e. distance education, online , off campus or outreach?
Does it has mandatory AICTE approval to offer courses in distance and online mode (MBA, MCA, M.Sc. IT)
Has UGC approved this kind of exam system where people can give exam from their home?

Kandra Ahir
03:20:38 pm

Can you please provide me with the link which says that AICTE approval is required for Distance learning programs?

Client
03:21:18 pm

please see above, I have already given link and even on your Assam Down Town approval letter it has clearly specified that approval is required
Technical/ Professional Programmes: In case of technical/professional programmes offered by the university is concerned, wherever required, approval from the concerned apex bodies in the country such as AICTE, NCTE, etc. is required to be obtained for which the responsibility vests with the university concerned.
above is the excerpts
here is the link

Kandra Ahir
03:23:31 pm

I am aware of the link and it clearly states that AICTE approval is required for required for regular technical courses.

Client
03:24:31 pm

have you gone crazy? The above link is of all the institute  approved from DEB for offering programme through distance education mode, open mode, online mode, unconventional mode etc.and it has clearly mentioned and meant for distance education

Technical/ Professional Programmes: In case of technical/professional programmes offered by the university is concerned, wherever required, approval from the concerned apex bodies in the country such as AICTE, NCTE, etc. is required to be obtained for which the responsibility vests with the university concerned.
and while reading, another thing struck me, the territorial jurisdiction
as per DEB (Distance Education Bureau) a state university cannot offer any course outside its state then will my degree be valid

So these degree sellers instead of replying me, disconnected chat twice.
You decide what do you want and then take a decision. I do not have any problem if a university does not care about following unnecessary rule and providing quality education, but if somebody sell degree like this for money and pollutes education, It hurts me and make me angry. Finally, it is your decision. I am just brining the fact here.

Even after 6 years UGC found 41 deemed university still unfit to be declared as a deemed university

UGC is a corrupt, useless and meaningless body. First it took money (yes, then HRD minister Arjun Singh was also part of the corruption) and granted permission to these useless colleges a deemed university status. Then the matter however exposed and UGC decided to derecognize those universities. Again, the matter went to supreme court and then UGC appointed a new committee and even after these years, UGC found that these institutes are not worth to be called as university. Here is the UGC blacklisted 44 universities.

Here is those C graded blacklisted deemed universities

Rajiv Gandhi National Youth Development Institute in Tamil Nadu

2.      Nava Nalanda Mahavihara in Bihar

42.  Santosh University, Ghaziabad

43.   Nehru Gram Bharti Vishwavidyalaya, Allahabad.

You can see, these universities are highly advertising as a best university (Christ, Manav Rachana, Shobhit, Shiksha o Anusandhan, Sumandeep, Mody, Graphic Era and BLDE in prominence.

What the hell UGC was doing all these years? Why did not they stop admission in these deemed universities, diploma mills of India, degree mills of India?

Here is the article from The Times of India. Although, UGC has not named those 11 universities, I am sure except Tilak Vidyapeeth and DY Patil or Jaypee, rest all soon be blacklisted and again the looser will be students only.

NEW DELHI: A high-powered committee set up at the behest of the Supreme Court to look into 41 'C' category deemed universities has found that majority of them still do not fulfill the criteria needed to become deemed university.

"It is likely that around 10 or so have been found fit to be upgraded to become deemed university. Rest of them can exist as educational institutions affiliated to universities. Basically, classification of 'C' category institutions has been done in which a few pass the test of becoming deemed, a few lag behind on certain criteria and others have been found totally unfit," a source said,

In 2009, the Tandon committee, while reviewing deemed universities, had put 44 of them under the 'C' category and declared them unfit to be a university. These institutions went to the Supreme Court and the matter is being heard. In January, a new committee was set up by UGC to assess 'C' grade universities. UGC will discuss the new committee report on September 22 and 23.

Sources said the new committee headed by H Devaraj, vice-chairperson of UGC, after hearing 41 deemed universities extensively in July, raised several questions about the manner in which deemed university status was granted. Since the committee was also asked to examine other reports on deemed universities, namely one set up by UGC in 2009, Tandon Committee and Committee of Officers, it found many flaws.

One, how come many institutions got notified as deemed university on certain conditions. "There is no provision for conditional notification in the UGC Act. If some of the deemed universities had conditional status, did UGC or HRD ministry check if conditions were fulfilled after a certain period. Also, how come many of them with conditional status made it to the 'A' category (high performing) of Tandon Committee," asked a member of the committee.

He also asked how deemed university status was given to one college which brought its sister institutions under its ambit without getting them separately assessed. The new committee also pointed out serious discrepancy in upgrading eight 'B' category institutions to 'A' category.

The report was written in the last days of August as Amita Sharma, additional secretary in HRD ministry and a member of the committee, was retiring. Sharma is being brought back as advisor in the HRD ministry.

Students: Please do not opt any of the above universities not even for a full time course. These are worst universities of India, a product of corruption in ministry of HRD and UGC.

GITAM University distance MCA, MBA and other programmes and its recognition, value and review

Before start to write about recognition and non recognition of GITAM University distance education programmes as well as the whole world and word of "recognition" I must clear doubt in people's mind that why I am so much focussing on recognition. How does it matter if somebody want to do it just for private job.

Well, if any institute/ university provides quality education and completely focussed on it, I am least worried about its AICTE and UGC recognition. I fully accept that whether it is AICTE, UGC, PCI, NCI, NCTE, BCI or any other bodies, they are too busy in making money (and recently read how the corrupt, a big stain on Indian higher education V N Rajashekharan Pillai i eyeing to get advisor to MHRD or similar position. This is the same guy who brought black day for Indian higher education by taking bribe from Sikkim Manipal, Punjab technical and hundreds of private institutes and made money.

See, when the institute i very reputed, at least you are least worried that even in a private sector, your degree will be accepted. When we talk about quality, the instituted violating maximum norms are least worried about providing quality or committed towards education.

Thats why in one of my earlier posts, I advised that those people who are interested in quality education like MBA, MCA and are from Chennai and nearby area, they should opt Anna University's distance MBA and MCA for certain reason:
1. It did not offer the course through private franchisee
2. It offered courses within the area where it had affiliated colleges
3. It was amongst top and reputed technical colleges and universities in India.

Although it did not seek AICTE, UGC approval but it fully complied with the guideline.

But question is how many such institutes are really focussed on providing quality education? Hardly any.

Now, I am also reproducing here a chat transcript about acceptance of MBA programmes

Hi Govind, sorry to disturb you on a Monday.
how are you doing?
Govind
hi good morning, no worry. All fine

Utkarsh
good.
Govind, do you have any suggestions for part time MBA in Hyderabad?
for Bombay  JB would have best, however my locatiion shift to hyderabad has no other options
so I wanted your suggestions/opinions on it.

Govind
JNTU and Osmania
check with them

Utkarsh
are they recognised by the concerned bodies?

Govind
yes
both have AICTE approval and reputed one
prefer JNTU

Utkarsh
ok jntu as per you
will check them out...
thanks a lot Govind, you have been the go-to person since my start of research in this line
also, do you think part-time mba is better than distance mba from uni of hyd or pondi?

Govind
part time is better both in terms of quality as well as acceptance
Pondicherry is also a good option
If you opt Pondicherry, the benefit is- you can opt exam centre anywhere in India

Utkarsh
you know I am more concerned about the acceptance because of the stigma against distance mba
pondi is definitely a good choice and flexible, however does the industry look at it with a positive sense, is something which has got me switngin betwwen part time and distance

Govind
See, the thumb rule is- if industry is specifically looking for an MBA, they look at tier 1 B schools like ISB, XLRI, IIM, NITIE, TISS, NMIMS, SP Jain etc. so these people are hired as a management trainee and elevated into the position soon. Then the preference goes to tier II B school again full time graduates. except these, the rest of the B school that constitute almost 95% of B schools in India does not hold value.
Third preference goes to executive/ part time MBA basically meant for the working executive who has a management degree additionally so it avoid any conflict and ego between new hires who are MBA and reluctant to report a non MBA boss, also in the case where candidates are exceptions but they are helpless as policy says the candidate must have an MBA
In such case a part time management degree, preferably MBA from a good institute
There are institutes  like FMS, KJ Somaiya, JBIMS come into the picture
4th preference goes to other state university distance edu but reputed one like Madras University, Kurukshetra University, Bharati Vidyapeeth etc.

Utkarsh
hmm hmm

Govind

Rest like SMU, ICFAI just add the tag and candidates never get the added advantage of the degree/ They get the job solely based on their own ability and quality

So I hope I am able to clarify whether a full time MBA or a part time MBA or which distance MBA is suitable for working professionals. Please search on my blog, there are enough guideline and article about it.

Now let us talk about GITAM University

GITAM is a private university.
GITAM is a deemed university and as per the guideline from UGC, a deemed and private university cannot offer any course outside its campus and also it cannot offer distance learning programme through franchisee mode, including by appointing a study centre.

However, GITAM opened study centre in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana which are invalid. For full time course, it may be good but that is also subject to certain inspection

Review from one of the google

only good for rich kids.. middle class ppl dont risk..
university is avg

nt worth of fee

i mean hyd campus
no infrastructure..

As per its website, it has campuses in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Bangalore.

its full name is as follows:

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM),
Visakhapatnam

DEB recognition:
This university has approval for current year i.e. 2014-15 and thats too only for its Visakhapatnam campus. As per UGC DEB directive, being a deemed university , following reply applies:

1. It cannot offer any course outside its campus.
2. The distance learning courses to be offered through its approved campus only
3. It should not offer courses thrugh any private study centre, by any means other than its own staff.

Violations:
1.. It is offering courses across the state of Telangana, Seemandhra (AP) and Bangalore through 100+ study centres.
2. Possibly, it does not have approval from AICTE to offer these courses through distance mode.
3. Its MBA does not have approval from UGC DEB
4. It does not have approval from DEB to offer MBA programmes in distance mode.

I sent a detailed questions to GITAM University but so far I have not got the reply from them. GITAM University has got approval for distance education but will few specific conditions.

Please refer
http://www.gitam.edu/cdl/images/ugc-14-15.pdf

there in column XII it is clearly mentioned that offering courses through franchisee mode is not allowed.

GITAM has clearly violated this policy. Imagine an institute which claims to be high in standard and supposed to teach ethics to students are self unethical.

Who should worry about recognition

Those who want to apply for a government job after completing.
Those who want to apply for job abroad on their ow
Those who are looking for knowledge and not just a degree.
Those who are looking for higher study in India and abroad
Those who are not a degree buyer but a knowledge seeker

Should I opt GITAM University then?
Its your choice. I am helping you to make informed decision.

What about full time courses of GITAM University?
Unfortunately, GITAM University does not have displayed AICTE and UGC mandatory disclosure. If it really claims to be such a reputed and honourable university , why it is not making mandatory disclosure.
