Hi,
D Y Patil is another prominent deemed university in India (Like Bharati Vidyapeeth, it is also owned and headed by a politician and a complete commercial university who sells admission seat through management quota). However, still it has clean image and record when the matter comes of awarding a degree.
Off late, it has also started advertising its distance learning programme.

So the question may arise whether its distance MBA is good.
It is fully complying with the AICTE guideline that a distance MBA should be of 3 years duration and student should be admitted on the basis of entrance examination. Considering this, it seems to be one of the good option.

Does it has approval from DEB (Distance Education Bureau) of UGC and AICTE as well as DCI?
It has approval from DEB but it has not mentioned any document about approval from AICTE and DCI (Dental Council of India). AICTE is self not clear on AICTE approval whereas UGC guideline is very clear. I have filed RTI application to AICTE for clarity but yet to get reply from them. On online status, their reply is vague and misleading so I am waiting for official communication.
Please see the DEB approval with condition mentioned therein. The validity is only for current year
What is the course fee
As I spoke to them, it is Rs. 50,000 for entire programme. Which is normal. Being a private university, they are bound to charge this much but still not bad.
Exam centres
They have exam centre only in Pune and Mumbai. As they have their own campus in Pune and Navi Mumbai. This is again a good sign as they are not appointing any agent and not forming private study centre. As per uGC guideline any private and deemed university cannot offer any course beyond their campus.
So, should I opt D Y PAtil University?
At least now, I do not see any harm in pursuing course from here.
